As September gives way to October, Southern Colorado begins to glow with the unmistakable flavors of autumn. The days shorten, the air cools, aspen leaves begin their golden tumble — and our cities heat up with an incredible lineup of events, celebrations, football and cultural experiences.
One of the first signs of fall is the rise of Oktoberfest celebrations. From steins clinking at lively breweries to community gatherings filled with music, dancing, and hearty fare, this season offers plenty of ways to enjoy the spirit of fall together. It is a time for friends, laughter, and raising a glass to the season ahead.
October also brings the return of Arts Month, a cornerstone of our regional calendar. Everywhere you look, creativity takes center stage. With this month’s First Fridays event, galleries open their doors with new exhibits, public art springs up across our neighborhoods, and local artists remind us of the depth of talent right here in Southern Colorado. It is the perfect invitation to get out and explore.

Theatreworks opens its season with productions that spark both imagination and conversation, while the Colorado Springs Philharmonic launches another year of powerful performances with their new music director.
